The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Bodh Gaya P.S.Case No.507/16 registered under Section 498(A) of the I.P.C. and Section 3⁄4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The accusation is of torturing of O.P.No.2 by her husband and other in-laws due to non-fulfillment of dowry demand. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that on the prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the O.P.No.2 the matter was referred to Patna High Court Mediation Centre, Patna., but mediation could not succeeded. Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.6326 of 2017 (5) dt.06-10-2017 2/2 with her father were present before mediation centre but petitioner was absent due to that reason matter was not settled. Having considered the facts and the circumstances of the case and the nature of allegation against the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer of the petitioner for grant of anticipatory bail stands rejected. However, the petitioner is directed to surrender before the trial court within four weeks from today and pray for regular bail, which shall be considered by the trial court in accordance with law without being prejudiced by the order of this Court.
