The petitioners by filing this writ petition seeks direction to the respondent no.4 to dispose of the petition of the petitioners for mutation of the lands duly described in the petition which the petitioners purchased through registered sale deeds.

The Circle Officer, Danapur on receipt of any application for mutation is duty bound to pass order on such petition either mutating the name of the applicants or rejecting the same but the Circle Officer cannot illegally sit over the matter for indefinite period.

Patna High Court CWJC No.19423 of 2018(2) dt.21-12-2018 2/2 In this view of the fact, I direct the Circle Officer, Danapur to pass order on the petition of the petitioner, Annexure-2 series, with regard to mutation of their names in respect of the lands duly purchased by him from the recorded tenants within four months from the date of receipt of this order. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is allowed.
