Petitioner apprehends arrest in case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 406, 420 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. As per prosecution case, on 05.06.2021, all the accused persons borrowed Rs. 5,50,000/- from the informant and this petitioner issued a cheque which got bounced. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in the present case. He next submits that petitioner is a shopkeeper, informant and petitioner are neighbours and there was good relation between both the parties so he used to leave his shop under the care of the informant. No.60078 of 2022(8) dt.10-04-2023 2/2 kept a blank signed cheque in his shop but in his absence the cheque in question was taken away from the shop of the petitioner and this false case has been lodged against him. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail application and submits that petitioner is author of the cheque which got bounced.

Considering the aforesaid facts, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected. (Prabhat Kumar Singh, J) Navya/- U T
