1. Heard the parties.

2. The petitioner was a student of Madarsa Islamia Anjuman Mofidul Islam, Lodi Katra, Patna. He appeared in the Class VIII (Wastania) Examination in the year 2015, bearing Roll No. 00356, Roll code-PAT, Reg. No. PAT00356/15. He secured 66.5% marks with first division in the said examination conducted by Bihar State Madarsa Education Board, Patna. Thereafter, Petitioner appeared and passed the Fauquania (Class X) Examination in 2017 from the same Madrasa in 2nd Division. He also passed the Maulvi 12th Examination in 2019 and secured 2nd division.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the

Patna High Court CWJC No.13927 of 2023(3) dt.17-06-2025 2/3 name of the petitioner in the certificate of Wastania Examination, 2015 was wrongly mentioned inasmuch as the correct name of the petitioner is Md. Khurram Iqubal but in the certificate his name has been typed as Md. Khurram Hussain. Likewise, father's name of the petitioner is Equbal Ahson but there is a spelling error in the father's name of the petitioner as correct spelling of the name of his father is Equbal Ahson whereas in the certificate, his father's name has wrongly been typed as Equbal Ahsan. Immediately after having got the certificate of Wastania in 2015, the petitioner filed the application in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2022 before the Controller of Examination of Board through proper channel for correction of his name as well as the correction in the name of his father. Since 2015, the application/representation of the petitioner is pending before the Board but the Board is not taking any step for correction of petitioner's name and name of his father.

Learned counsel for the Board submits that there was no representation/request for correction in the name of petitioner and his father in Wastania Fauquania Maulvi in the year 2015 and onwards, however, one application/ representation of the year 2022 has been received by the Board. However, he submits that if a fresh application is submitted by

Patna High Court CWJC No.13927 of 2023(3) dt.17-06-2025 3/3 the petitioner along with the relevant documents, the same shall be considered by the Board and the Board will decide to correct the name of the petitioner and his father in all the certificates.

Having considered the submissions made by the parties and the fact that there is minor spelling error in the name of petitioner's father and some error in the second name of the petitioner in all the certificates issued by the Board, therefore, in the interest of justice, I direct the petitioner to file a fresh representation/application before the Controller of Examination Board within a period of two weeks along with necessary documents and if the same is filed by the petitioner, the Controller Of Examination of the Board shall take steps for correction of the second name of the petitioner and spelling in the father's name of the petitioner in the certificate of Wastania Fauquania Maulvi within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of representation by the petitioner.

6. The present writ application is disposed with the aforesaid direction and observation.
