The matter has been listed under the heading "For Orders" under the orders of Hon'ble the Chief Justice. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, O.P. No. 2 and learned APP for the State.

The petitioner seeks bail in a case registered under Sections 341, 323, 379, 354(B), 324, 498(A)/34 of the Indian Penal Code and 3⁄4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.

Allegation against the petitioner is of committing torture upon the victim due to non-fulfillment of demand of dowry.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.69485 of 2019(4) dt.03-06-2020 2/2 It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent. There is no allegation of tampering of witnesses alleged against the petitioner. The petitioner is in custody since 11-06-2019. The petitioner was granted provisional bail vide order dated 17-03-2020 for exploring the possibility of settlement between the parties but no settlement could be arrived at.

On behalf of the State and O.P. No. 2, it is submitted that the petitioner is named in the Complaint Case/F.I.R. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, the provisional bail granted to the petitioner by order dated 17-03-2020 in connection with Kanti P.S. Case No. 163 of 2019 is, confirmed.
