This writ application has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to appoint the petitioner on the post of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant in the Department of Posts, Government of India. The petitioner has been selected for appointment to the said post by the Staff Selection Commission.

3. Ms. Mayuri, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that though other persons selected with the petitioner have been appointed against the posts, petitioner's appointment is being unnecessarily delayed because

Mr. Rajesh Kumar Verma, learned Assistant Solicitor General of India, while raising a plea of maintainability of the writ application, has informed this Court that the petitioner's grievance has since been redressed, inasmuch as, the dossier has been verified and all the documents have been found to be genuine. He has also submitted that a communication to this effect has been sent to the petitioner as well as the Department of Posts, Government of India.

5. In view of the stand, which has been taken on behalf of the Staff Selection Commission, without going into the question of maintainability of the writ application, this application is disposed of with an expectation that there should not be further delay in appointment of the petitioner to the post for which he has been selected.
