JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 18-09-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "1. That by the instant writ application the petitioner prays for issuance of an appropriate writ or writs in the nature of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant Arms license of Pistol/ Revolver to him for his personal protection and safety, by disposing his application dated 14/07/2017, pending before the Respondent No.4."

At the outset, the Ld. Counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose off the application

Patna High Court CWJC No.13485 of 2024(2) dt.18-09-2024 2/2 filed by the petitioner on 14.07.2017, for grant of arms license.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondent-State submits that in case the aforesaid application is still pending, the same would definitely be disposed off within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose off the aforesaid application filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
