The petitioner passed Matriculation Examination, held by the Bihar School Examination Board in 1978. His date of birth in the Matriculation certificate has been entered as 07.02.1958.

The present writ application has been filed seeking correction in his date of birth since, according to him, his correct date of birth is 01.08.1964.

From the record it appears that the petitioner started approaching the authorities for correction nearly 25 years after he passed the said Matriculation Examination.

Patna High Court CWJC No.1680 of 2017(4) dt.05-10-2018 2/2 This writ application has been filed nearly 39 years after his result of Matriculation Examination was published. There is no explanation on record to justify the delay and laches on the part of the petitioner in approaching this Court.

This application is, accordingly, dismissed.
