Having regard to the fact that the death of the father of the petitioner had taken place on 09.01.1975, when there was no policy for compassionate appointment and in fact the same came into force only with w.e.f 12.07.1977, this Court must hold the present writ application seeking direction for appointment of the petitioner on compassionate ground on the basis of his application being filed on 12.05.1988 i.e. after 13 year of the death of the father of the petitioner, to be wholly misconceived.

A period of more than 40 years has elapsed and therefore, the chapter of compassionate appointment of

Patna High Court CWJC No.17272 of 2008 (2) dt.28-07-2015 the petitioner must come to and end.

That being so, this application is wholly misconceived and is, accordingly, dismissed.
