The counsel for the petitioner seeks permission of the Court to convert the application into an Appeal under Section 14A of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Mr. Jha, appearing for the informant has, however, objected, stating that the impugned order has been passed by the learned Sessions Judge and not by the 1st Additional Sessions Judge. He also points out that there is interim protection granted to the petitioner.
