The petitioner is an applicant for issuance of the Passport. The present application is filed to command the respondent Passport authority to correct his date of birth as per the certificate. Petitioner was earlier issued passport with a different date of birth. Now the petitioner wants change in his date of birth. A counter affidavit is filed on behalf of the concerned respondent. Referring to the relevant clause of the Passport Manual, 2010 (for short 'the Manual'), it has been stated that if the petitioner complies with the requirement(s) provided in Clause 5 of the Manual, the respondent would consider the grievance of the petitioner insofar as altered/changed date of birth is concerned.

The writ application is disposed of permitting the

Patna High Court CWJC No.8797 of 2014 (2) dt.24-10-2016 2/2 petitioner to comply with the requirement/procedure provided for effecting such change in the date of birth of the applicant whereafter the respondent will take steps for issuing the Passport with the changed/altered date of birth of the petitioner in accordance with law.
