JUSTICE BIRENDRA PRASAD VERMA ORAL ORDER 06-01-2016 As per submission made by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, the sole writ petitioner Bachan Singh has passed away during the pendency of the present writ petition. This fact was noticed in the order dated 10.03.2015 passed by a Bench of this Court. By the aforesaid order dated 10.03.2015, the leaned counsel for the petitioner was granted six weeks' time for taking steps for substitution of the deceased sole writ petitioner.

From the office note dated 05.01.2016 it appears that no step has been taken till date by the heirs and legal representatives of the deceased sole petitioner for their substitution in place of the original writ petitioner. No lis can proceed on behalf of a dead person and in above view of the matter, the writ petition has abated and is, accordingly, dismissed.
