Patna High Court CWJC No.13400 of 2024(2) dt.18-09-2024 2/3 nature of MANDAMUS, commanding and directing the Respondent no.3 for disposal of the petitioner's application dated 21.05.2014 which he has filed for grant of Arms License on the ground that his deceased father was also a licensee of N.P. Bore Riffle but had died on 22.08.2013 and, therefore, for the purposes of safety of life and property, the petitioner deserves a license on compassionate ground."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasaram to dispose off the application, filed by the petitioner on 21.05.2014 and/or conclude the proceedings of the pending Arms Case No.5 of 2021, which have stood revived on account of setting aside of the order dated 06.07.2021, passed by the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasaram and remand of the matter back to him for passing a fresh order, after considering the provisions contained in the Arms Rules, 2016.

3. Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasaram to conclude the proceedings of the aforesaid Arms Case No.5 of 2021, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order in

Patna High Court CWJC No.13400 of 2024(2) dt.18-09-2024 3/3 accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
