Let the petitioner file an application for payment of statutory interest of the gap period before the Director, Provident Fund, who will verify the status and if the petitioner is entitled to such statutory payment, direction for authorization of the same may be given or else the reason for refusal will be communicated to the petitioner. All this must be done within a period of three months from the date of filing of such an application.

Let this aspect be also examined.
