JUSTICE AJIT KUMAR ORAL ORDER 15-12-2025 In the instant petition, petitioner has prayed for the following relief(s):- "That this is an application for issuance of an appropriate writ and/or order, and/ or direction commanding the respondents to grant the petitioner the promotion with all consequential benefits from the post of College Librarian to next higher post College Librarian Senior Scale under the career Advancement Scheme from the date from which the petitioner became eligible and other promotion which is entitle."

2. Counsel for the petitioner by referring to Para 7 and 8 of the counter affidavit filed on behalf of the Respondent Nos.

Patna High Court CWJC No.18079 of 2019(3) dt.15-12-2025 2/3 3 to 6, submits that the University has taken categorically stand that the matter is under process and upon recommendation by the selection committee, the pay-scale will be granted to the petitioner and specific statement in this regard is made, which is stated in Para 7 & 8 re-produced as under:- "7. That the applications have been received in the University from several persons in this regard. The matter is under process and after recommendation of the selection committee the UGC Pay Scale will be granted to the recommended persons.

The petitioner has stated that in para 18 that he has filed application pursuant to Annexure 8.

8. That the claim of the petitioner will depend on the recommendation of selection committee which is under process at present."

On the other hand, counsel representing Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara fairly submits that the case of the petitioner would be considered as and when the recommendation is received by the Selection Committee, and this Court may fix a timeline so that his grievances can be adjudicated within the stipulated time limit.

4. Considering the submissions of the parties, it is apt to direct, the concerned authorities of the University to consider the case without any undue delay preferably within a period of three months and on findings that the petitioner is eligible and

Patna High Court CWJC No.18079 of 2019(3) dt.15-12-2025 3/3 claim is justified in law and further entitled to such benefits for which the writ petition is filed, the same shall also be extended to this petitioner, within the same time.

5. Accordingly, the instant writ petition stands disposed of.
