Considering that the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment was rejected as back as on 24.04.2007 vide Annexure-5 and a communication to that effect was also made to the petitioner by the Superintendent of Police, Nawada vide Memo no.704 dated 15.05.2007 at Annexure 4, it is too late in the day for the petitioner to raise the claim for compassionate appointment after sitting idle for all the 9 years. The writ petition suffers from gross laches and delay in raising the stale claim, which cannot be given indulgence after such long lapse of time.

The writ petition is dismissed.
