2. The present petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- (i) The present writ application is being filed in the nature of Mandamus directing the Respondent Authorities to grant service extension to the petitioner for a period of 5 years after the date of his retirement i.e. with respect from 31.02.2023 to 31.01.2028 in light of the meeting held on 06.01.2023 under the Chairmanship of Collector, East Champaran, Motihari.

(ii) For the issuance of an appropriate writ/order or direction by declaring the petitioner's

Patna High Court CWJC No.14666 of 2025(2) dt.22-09-2025 2/2 right to be considered for extension on parity with other similarly placed Panchayat Sachivs who were granted such benefit based on good service record.

(iii) For the issuance of an appropriate writ/order or direction by restraining the respondents from filling up the post by any other person till final disposal of this writ.

3. This application is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach the authorities for reconsideration of his appointment on a contractual basis, if any requirement still exists. This order does not mean that the authorities must reemploy the petitioner.
