The slip for listing was filed pursuant to notice dated 08th May 2019, published prior to the vacation. Matter is, accordingly, taken up for consideration as both parties are present and willing to assist the Court for

After some argument, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that his claims for grant off retiral dues were made on 30.08.2018 (Annexure 11) before the Principal Secretary, Home (Police) Department (respondent No 2). He submits that till date, no action has been taken on the same. Having regard to the limited grievance regarding disposal of his application dated 30.08.2018, it is agreed between the parties that the matter may be disposed of with a direction to respondent No 2 to take a final decision on the representation dated 3.08.2018 filed by the petitioner. In the circumstances, keeping the writ petition pending, would serve no useful purpose.

Respondent No 2 is directed to dispose of the petitioner's claim, taken note of herein above, by a reasoned and speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
