JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 18-09-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "1.(i) For issuance of appropriate writ(s), order(s), direction(s) to the respondents concerned to dispose of the application made by the petitioner for issuance of license for rifle in favour of petitioner, which is pending since the year 2016 before the respondent no. 2.

(ii) For issuance of appropriate writ(s), order(s), direction(s) to the respondent concerned directing them to grant the licence for rifle in favour of petitioner."

At the outset, the Ld. Counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasaram to dispose off the application filed by the petitioner in the year 2016, for grant of arms license.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondent-State submits that in case the aforesaid application is still pending, the same would definitely be disposed off within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Rohtas at Sasarm to dispose off the aforesaid application filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
