JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 20-09-2019 An order dated 27.06.2017, issued by the Managing Director, Bihar State Co-operative Bank Limited, Patna, is under challenge in the present writ application, whereby the petitioner has been put under suspension on the charge of financial irregularity. A departmental proceeding has been initiated against the petitioner, which has yet not concluded. The petitioner, at the relevant point of time, was posted as Branch Manager, Bihat Branch of the Bank at Barauni in the District of Begusarai.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner cannot be allowed to remain under suspension for an indefinite period and since it has taken more than two years in conclusion of the departmental proceeding, the order dated 27.06.2017 should be interfered with by this Court.

3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Bank, on the other hand, has submitted that the departmental proceeding is at the fag end of completion and is likely to be concluded soon.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances as noted above, I consider is just and proper to dispose of this application with a direction that let the disciplinary poceeding be concluded within two months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, failing which the order of suspension shall become inoperative and the respondents will be required to revoke the order of suspension.

5. This disposes of the application.
