JUSTICE JYOTI SARAN ORAL ORDER 18-02-2015 Heard Mr. Anis Akhtar, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State. The limited grievance of the petitioner is that his application for grant of arms license remains pending before the licensing authority under the Arms Act, 1954 who in the present case would be the District Magistrate, East Champaran at Motihari.

Mr. Akhtar, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that in the year 2006 the petitioner filed two applications for grant of license in respect of a revolver as well as for a pistol and though the matter has progressed thereafter but it

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking note of the limited grievance raised in this writ petition requiring a disposal of the application filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license which has remained pending since 2006, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, East Champaran to consider the grievance of the petitioner and dispose of the same by speaking order and after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner in accordance with law expeditiously and preferably within three months from the date of receipt / production of a copy of this order.
