1. Though the present writ petition has been filed for quashing the letter dated 16.08.2024, issued by the respondent

Patna High Court CWJC No.13145 of 2024(4) dt.23-10-2024 2/2 no.3, i.e. the Circle Officer, Manjhi, District-Saran at Chapra, directing the petitioners to remove the encroachment in question, however, the learned counsel for the respondent-State has referred to the counter affidavit filed in the present case and has submitted that the Circle Officer, Manjhi, District-Saran at Chapra, has already passed the final order under Section 6(1) of the Bihar Public Land Encroachment Act, 1956 in connection with the encroachment proceedings in question.

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioners seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioners to avail such remedies as are otherwise available under the law, for redressal of their subsisting grievances, however, seeks some protection during the interregnum period. Liberty so sought is granted.

3. It is needless to state that for a period of six weeks from today, status quo, existing as on today qua the land/houses of the petitioners in question shall be maintained, in order to enable the petitioners to avail such alternative remedies as are otherwise available under the law.

4. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
