JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 17-12-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "1.I. For issuance of appropriate writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ(s) or order(s) or direction(s) commanding the Respondents to reissue passport to the petitioner at the earliest, for which he has applied through the online mode on 23.01.2023, whereupon file number PA1077460086423 and ARN-220019140876 has been generated."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to file a fresh application for issuance/re-issuance

Patna High Court CWJC No.14160 of 2023(5) dt.17-12-2024 2/2 of passport as per law and as per the provisions contained under the Passport Act, 1967 as also under the Passport Rules, 1980, however, seeks a direction upon the respondent authorities to consider the same and take appropriate decision within a stipulated time frame.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, I deem it fit and proper to grant liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate application for grant of passport/re-issuance of passport within a period of four weeks from today, in accordance with the prescribed procedure, whereupon the respondent authorities shall process the same and take a final decision within a period of eight weeks, thereafter. 4.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
