1. The Writ petition is filed seeking a direction upon the respondent authorities to consider the name of the petitioner and to issue a Public Distribution System (P.D.S.) license in her favour on compassionate grounds.

2. The brief facts, as culled out from the Writ petition are that the husband of the petitioner, namely Sumeshwar Bhokta, was a valid P.D.S. licensee bearing License No. 55/2012 and he died on

Patna High Court CWJC No.17992 of 2019 dt.16-10-2025 2/3 19.01.2015. After the death of her husband, the petitioner submitted an application along with the required documents for grant of a P.D.S. license on compassionate grounds, which is still pending for consideration.

3. It is specific contention of the Learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner's application has neither been rejected nor accepted by the respondent, therefore, a direction may be issued to competent authority to pass an appropriate order in accordance with law.

4. The Learned counsel for the respondents submitted that a direction may be given the respondent No. 3, i.e., Sub-Divisional Officer, to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application in accordance with law.

5. Heard the Learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the Learned counsel for the

Patna High Court CWJC No.17992 of 2019 dt.16-10-2025 3/3 respondents.

6. Taking into consideration that the application of the petitioner is still pending before respondent No. 3, i.e., Sub-Divisional Officer, this Court directs the concerned authority to pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within three months from the date of the receipt of this order.

7. With the aforesaid observation, the Writ petition stands disposed of.
