2. The petitioners have moved the Court for a direction for making payment of arrears of salary for the period December, 1986 to January, 1991, with regard to petitioner no. 1 and from January, 1987 to January, 1991, with regard to petitioner no. 2.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that for such relief, a representation has been filed before the respondent no. 6 which has still not been disposed off.

4. Learned counsel for the University submitted that the representations pending shall be disposed off within a reasonable period, in accordance with law.

5. Having considered the rival contentions, the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the respondent no. 5 to dispose off the representation filed by the petitioners relating to payment of their arrears of salary, if already not disposed off, within a period of four weeks from the date of production of a copy of this order. It is expected that if any amount is found payable to the petitioners, the same shall also be paid to them within the next four weeks.
