JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR UPADHYAY ORAL ORDER 17-09-2019 Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner is permitted to make necessary correction in the pleadings during the course of the day.

The grievance of the petitioner is non-payment of arrears of difference of salary from 19.3.1994 to May, 2017 on account of promotion to the post of Reader.

The petitioner was granted promotion as Reader with effect from 19.3.1994 but he has not been granted the benefit of such promotion in monetary terms. Granting promotion without monetary benefit is only an eye wash. If the petitioner has been

If the respondents have not granted such benefits to the petitioner they are required to grant benefit of such promotion. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to calculate the entitlement of the petitioner i.e. the difference of salary w.e.f. 19.3.1994 to May, 2017 and make payment of difference of arrears of salary on promotion at the earliest preferably within a maximum period of 60 days from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid, the writ petition stands disposed of.
