JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 19-06-2023 The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that though the application of the petitioner for grant of arms license was rejected by the District Magistrate, Patna vide order dated 03.07.2014, however, upon appeal being filed by the petitioner, bearing Arms Appeal No. 713 of 2014, the learned Court of Divisional Commissioner, Patna by an order dated 26.04.2016 has remanded the matter back to the District Magistrate, Patna for passing fresh orders, after obtaining fresh police report and adhering to the directions issued therein.

However, till date the District Magistrate, Patna has not passed any order with regard to the application

Patna High Court CWJC No.16535 of 2022(2) dt.19-06-2023 2/2 filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to dispose off the present writ petition with a direction to the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose off the pending application of the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has not already been disposed off, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
