The petitioner prays for a direction to the authority concerned to permit him to contest election of the Zila Parishad in the Panchayat Election to be held in 2016. Even while making such claim it is mentioned by the petitioner that the area in question now forms part of municipal corporation and which is the reason that his nomination has not been accepted. In view of the admission of the petitioner himself in paragraph 7 that his residential area now forms a municipality hence not being a resident of a Panchayat area, he is not entitled to contest a panchayat election.

Finding no merit in the writ petition, it is dismissed accordingly.
