For the Petitioner/s : Mr. Sushant Kumar Dutta, Advocate For the Respondent/s : Mr. S.D Sanjay, Addl. Soc. Gen. =========================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE AJAY KUMAR TRIPATHI ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 01-10-2015 Heard the parties.

Petitioner was a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya Danapur Cantt in the State of Bihar. He passed Secondary School Examination (Standard Xth) from the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The name of the father indicated in the Certificate therein is D.K. Singh. Petitioner did not realize that the short name of his father given in the Certificate will become a cause for losing out on employment subsequently.

When petitioner passed the Senior School Certificate

Patna High Court CWJC No.15154 of 2015 dt.01-10-2015 2/3 Examination (Standard XIIth), the School authorities as well as the Board indicated the full name of the father which is said to be Dinesh Kumar Singh. When petitioner applied and got selected by the Indian Air Force, the disconnect in the father's name in the Xth Board as well as in the XIIth Board is coming in his way of employment because the said authorities are not accepting D.K.Singh to mean Dinesh Kumar Singh.

There does not seem a much of dispute on the facts. If only the full name of father of petitioner was indicated in the Xth Board Examination by the school authorities, this litigation would not have arisen nor the present embarrassment would have been caused to the petitioner.

The Court, therefore, directs that the School Authorities after verifying the position, which should not be a matter of any difficulty, keeping in mind that in XIIth Standard position indicate the full name of the father of the petitioner as claimed as Dinesh Kumar Singh. They will forward the recommendation to Central Board of Secondary Education and the CBSE Board will make the necessary correction and will issue a fresh certificates showing the complete name of the father of the petitioner by 26th of October, 2015. The school will do the necessary exercise within a period of five days from the date of production of a copy of this order.

Patna High Court CWJC No.15154 of 2015 dt.01-10-2015 3/3 It is hoped and expected that the Air Force authorities will extend the time frame for producing the corrected certificate in view of the order passed today.

The writ application stands disposed of with the above direction.
