JUSTICE BIRENDRA KUMAR ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 11-08-2017 The truck of this petitioner bearing registration no. UP-65BT-9673 was seized in connection with Forest Case No. 60 of 2017 for alleged violation of the Forest Laws as the truck was carrying stone chips.

By filing the present writ application, the petitioner has prayed for direction to release the said truck as in spite of filing of the petition before the competent authority vide Annuxre-4, the truck is not being released by the authorities.

Heard the parties.

Since no purpose is going to be served by continued detention of the said vehicle in police lock-up, let the same be released in favour of the petitioner on execution of surety bond of

Patna High Court Cr. WJC No.1225 of 2017 dt.11-08-2017 2/2 Rs.20,00,000/- (rupees twenty lakhs) after verification of the documents of ownership. The bond shall not be in the nature of bank guarantee or cash.

With the aforesaid observation, this writ application stands disposed of.
