This writ application has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1st set to provide protection to the petitioners as they allege threat to their life and property in the hand of respondent 2nd set. It is submitted that the respondent 2nd set are bent upon taking law into their hand and the petitioners are under threat to their life and property.

3. Mr. Deepak Kumar, learned A.C. to learned G.P.-4, submits that he has instruction to say on behalf of the Superintendent of Police, Purnea that if the petitioners approach the Dhamdaha Police Station and submit their grievance before the S.H.O. of the concerned Police Station, the same would be looked into and appropriate measures shall be taken to protect the life and property of the petitioners.

Having regard to the kind of stand taken on behalf of the State, this Court is disposing of the present writ application with liberty to the petitioners to approach the Superintendent of Police, Purnea/S.H.O., Dhamdaha Police Station, as the case may be, and let these authorities know the kind of threats perceived by the petitioners. If the petitioners approach the concerned authorities, they would look into the grievance of the petitioners and shall take remedial measures in accordance with law.

5. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merit of the case and no opinion has been formed on the issues, thus it should be an independent appraisal of the circumstances by the concerned authorities.
