JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 30-04-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "1.That this is an application for issuance of writ(s) of Mandamus or other appropriate writ to direct the respondents especially Additional Chief, Secretary Home (Police), Government of Bihar to take decision on the proposal of the District Magistrate, Gopalganj by his letter No.1548/Arms dated 20.09.2021 for grant permission to deposit of Arms in Malkhana of Police Station or Police Line Malkhana, which has been kept in safe custody death and live by the legal heir of the Arms license holders or license holders themselves, purchase the licensed Arms in terms of Arms Act, 1959 as well as

Patna High Court CWJC No.13980 of 2023(2) dt.30-04-2024 2/2 Rule 16 of the Arms Rule 2016."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the Additional Chief Secretary, Home (Police) Department, Government of Bihar to take a decision with regard to the issues, referred to him by the District Magistrate, Gopalganj, vide letter dated 20.09.2021 and communicate the same to the District Magistrate, Gopalganj, within a stipulated time frame.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner, in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to direct the Additional Chief Secretary, Home (Police) Department, Government of Bihar to take a decision and issue guidelines to the District Magistrate, Gopalganj with regard to the issues which have been referred to him for consideration vide letter dated 20.09.2021, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
