2. The petitioner seeks bail in a case registered for the offence punishable under Section 8, 20(b)(ii)(c) of the N.D.P.S. Act.

3. In pursuance to the order dated 03.11.2023, status report of trial in connection with Barauni (Zeromile) P.S. Case No. 98 of 2020 has been received and kept at Flag-A, in which it is reported that total eight witnesses are named in the chargesheet and all are yet to be examined. It is further reported that summons have been issued against the charge-sheeted witnesses and at least nine months time would be required for conclusion of trial.

4. Considering the present stage of the trial, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his payer

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.71750 of 2023(3) dt.01-12-2023 2/2 for bail is rejected in connection with N.D.P.S. Case No. 09 of 2020 arising out of Barauni (Zeromile) P.S. Case No. 98 of 2020 pending before the court of the learned Additional Sessions Judge-I-cum Special Judge, N.D.P.S. Act, Begusarai.

5. Accordingly, the application is dismissed. However, Trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible within a period of nine months.
