JUSTICE PRABHAT KUMAR SINGH ORAL ORDER 16-01-2023 Grandfather of the petitioner died in harness in the year 2004. Claim for compassionate appointment of the petitioner was rejected by concerned respondent authority on the ground that petitioner is grandson of the deceased who does not come under the category of dependents of Government servants and secondly discrepancy was found in petitioner's date of birth in two different certificates submitted on behalf of the petitioner. Compassionate appointment cannot be considered and given after a lapse of more than 19 years. In this case,

Patna High Court CWJC No.1563 of 2018(5) dt.16-01-2023 2/2 grandfather of the petitioner died in 2004 and petitioner, who is grandson, does not come under the purview of dependents of Government Servant. The respondents have rightly rejected the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment. This writ petition lacks merit and is dismissed accordingly.
