Learned counsel for the petitioners fairly submits that during the pendency of the present writ petition promotion was granted to the petitioners and the petitioners have only grievances left with about the date of promotion. According to them, it should be from the earlier date because there are other consequential benefits attached to the same.

3. Learned counsel for the State submits that since the

Patna High Court CWJC No.8893 of 2018(2) dt.24-06-2024 2/2 promotion has already been granted to the petitioners, therefore, this case has now become infructous.

In the light of the submissions made by the parties, this writ petition is disposed off directing the petitioners to file their respective representation before respondent No. 4, namely, the District Magistrate, Saharsa with regard to the date of their promotion and corresponding benefits afresh within one month from the date of passing of this order, whereupon the respondent No.4 is directed to pass a reasoned and speaking order on the representation of the petitioners within ninety days thereafter.

5. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ petition stands disposed off.
