Patna High Court CWJC No.14278 of 2013 dt.15-03-2016 2/2 Heard the counsel for the petitioners and the State. Several Boat Owners have jointly filed this application to command the respondents for making payment of the rent of the Boats to the Boat Owners and wages of the Boat Man (Navik), as the State requisitioned the boats and sources to deal with the flood in the district of Sitamarhi. Naturally, meager amount shall be payable to each of them by the respondents. Even then, it appears that the respondents defaulted in making payment of those admissible dues. From the counter affidavit filed on behalf of the Circle Officer, Runnisaidpur, it appears that steps have now been taken to get the objections in such payment rectified/removed and to pay the admissible dues of the petitioners. It is stated that the respondents shall be able to make payment of the legitimate dues of the petitioners at the earliest.

The writ application stands disposed of by directing the respondents particularly the District Magistrate-cum-Collector Sitamarhi to ensure that the admissible dues are paid to the petitioners as quickly as possible preferably within three months from the date of receipt/production of the order before him.
