2. The petitioner has prayed for regular bail in a case registered for the offence punishable under Sections 318(4), 319(2), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 308(6) and 3(5) of the BNS and under Section 66 of the I.T. (Information Technology) Act.

3. The case of the prosecution is that informant received a call on mobile from unknown number 7520101715. The caller claimed to be the P.A. of retired commissioner Sri. Karu Ram and he transferred the call to another person who identified himself as retired commissioner Karu Ram. It is further alleged that Rupees Two lakh was demanded for settling the case which according to them was against the informant. It

No.62925 of 2025(2) dt.10-09-2025 2/3 is further alleged that the accused persons also called for what is number of informant and provide the bank account details which were in the name of the petitioner. The name of this petitioner has surfaced during investigation. The said mobile was received from him.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that from perusal of the FIR it is clear that the only allegation is that the petitioner has demanded Rupees Two Lakh. If the FIR is taken as true, at this moment pursuant to that demand no amount has been transferred in the account of this petitioner. The petitioner is in judicial custody since 03.05.2025.

5. Learned Senior counsel for the EOU has submitted that in the account number of this petitioner many transaction are there and there is allegation that he has cheated other persons as well. He further submits that the petitioner is having criminal antecedent of three cases.

6. As far as this case is concerned, only allegation is that of demand.

7. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this court is inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. The above named petitioner is directed to be released on bail in connection with Economic Offence P.S. Case No. 08 of 2025 on furnishing bail
