The grievance of the petitioners in the present writ petition is denial of monetary benefits on promotion to the post of Reader.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that the petitioner No. 1 was granted

Patna High Court CWJC No.19053 of 2019(2) dt.17-09-2019 2/2 promotion as Reader (Assistant Professor) Hindi Department with effect from 21.02.1999 and he has been denied monetary benefit from February, 1999 to April, 2017 whereas the petitioner No. 2 was granted promotion w.e.f. 1.2.1996 History Department and he has been denied the monetary benefits from 1996 to April, 2017. There is no reason to deny the monetary benefit of such promotion.

In view of the above, if the respondents have not granted the monetary benefit of such promotion to the petitioners, they have to calculate the entitlement of the petitioners and issue necessary order for payment of difference of salary on account of promotion at the earliest preferably within a maximum period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid, the writ petition stands disposed of.
