Azeem, learned APP for the State and Ms. Sonam Kumari, learned counsel for the informant.

2. Petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Shakurabad P.S. Case No. 275/ 2024 dated 26.10.2024 registered for the offence(s) punishable under Sections 80(2), 108, 238 and 3(5) of the BNS.

3. As per the prosecution's case, this petitioner along with other accused persons killed the sister of the informant for non fulfillment of demand of dowry and thereafter threw her dead body in a paddy field.

4. The main submissions advanced by the petitioner's counsel are that the petitioner is father-in-law of the deceased and has been languishing in jail since 31.01.2025. It is submitted that in the entire FIR there is no specific allegation against him and the deceased's husband is also in judicial

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.64687 of 2025(4) dt.10-12-2025 2/2 custody. It is further submitted that at the time of the alleged occurrence the petitioner was not present at the place of occurrence.

On the other hand, learned counsel appearing for the informant submits that dead body of the deceased was found in an open field and the accused persons failed to explain how the dead body of the deceased reached on that place and further, the trial of the petitioner is on the verge of end and all the prosecution witnesses have been examined.

Learned APP appearing for the State has submitted that during the course of the trial, the conduct of the petitioner did not remain good as according to one prosecution witness, Nilam Devi, the petitioner pressurized the prosecution party to withdraw the case and the petitioner has criminal antecedents of two cases

7. Considering the seriousness of the allegations and mainly recovery of the dead body of the deceased from an open field and taking into account the stage of the petitioner's trial and his criminal antecedents, this court is not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. Accordingly, his prayer stands rejected.
