Petitioners apprehend arrest in connection with Katihar Town (Sahayak) P.S. Case No. 741 of 2014 registered under Sections- 414 of the Indian Penal Code and section 11 of the Animal Cruelty Act.
It is alleged that some workers of Bajranj Dal caught the cow smuggler who disclosed their name and stated that they have purchased the cows from one Md. Guljar and were going to Baigna.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioners are cattle traders and used to purchase the cattle from some one and after getting some profit sell to other one. It is further submitted that as per Annexure-2, Md. Guljar has, on
Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.1345 of 2017 (2) dt.16-01-2017 2/2 affidavit, stated that he sold the said four cows to the petitioners. Petitioners have no criminal antecedent. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioners, above named, in the event of arrest or surrender within a period of four weeks from today, are directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Katihar in connection with Katihar Towm (Sahayak) P.S. Case No. 741 of 2014 subject to the conditions as laid down under section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
