Pursuant to order dated 16.11.2016, learned counsel for the L.I.C., at the very outset submits that they are agreeable for renewal of the policy with effect from 11.01.2013, if the same is paid with the requisite interest amount. However, he clarifies that the scheme itself after September, 2013 has been closed and, thus, the beneficiaries shall be limited to persons who were alive and in employment till September, 2013.

Learned counsel for the Municipal Corporation,

Patna High Court CWJC No.20167 of 2013 dt.02-12-2016 2/2 Muzaffarpur submits that it is agreeable to such condition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the L.I.C. to communicate the demand, giving detailed break-up, to the Corporation, within two weeks from today. Thereafter, the same shall be paid by the Corporation to the L.I.C., within the next two weeks.

The Municipal Corporation, Muzaffapur shall also forward the name and list of employees who were alive and in employment till 30th September, 2013, who shall be covered by this policy. It goes without saying that upon completion of the exercise, the policy shall stand revived with regard to the persons who were alive till 30th September, 2013.

The Court would also like to caution the Municipal Corporation, Muzaffarpur not to default in future. (Ahsanuddin Amanullah, J) P. Kumar AFR/NAFR U
