Learned counsel for the petitioner is permitted to implead Life Insurance Corporation of India through its Branch Manager, Darbhanga Branch as respondent no. 7.

Let necessary correction be made during the course of the day.

Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the newly added respondent no. 7. Learned counsel for the petitioner shall serve a copy of the brief on learned counsel for the respondent no. 7 during the course of the day.

Patna High Court CWJC No.14811 of 2012 (4) dt.01-09-2015 2/3 Learned counsel for the University has handed over a cheque of Rs. 6,23,361/- dated 28.07.2015 bearing number 036692 drawn on Punjab National Bank, Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga Branch to learned counsel for the petitioner. Counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of respondents no. 3 to 5. As per the stand of the respondents, all admitted retiral dues of the petitioner have been paid, except for remaining interest of 8% relating to Group Insurance till December, 2001. It has been stated that the process of the same has already been initiated and the amount shall be paid without any further delay. Learned counsel for the University submits that the same shall be paid to the petitioner within two weeks from today.

In view of the aforesaid, the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the respondents no. 4 and 5 to ensure that the remaining 8% interest till December, 2001 on the Group Insurance is paid to the petitioner within two weeks from the date of production of a copy of this order before the concerned respondents.

As far as the remaining interest under Group Insurance for the period from January, 2002 onwards, as admittedly the amount was with the Life Insurance Corporation of India which was supposed to pay the amount, if the petitioner finds that as per the

Patna High Court CWJC No.14811 of 2012 (4) dt.01-09-2015 3/3 agreement between the Life Insurance Corporation of India and the University the amount of interest fixed has not been paid, it shall be open to him to file a representation before the respondent no. 7. If such a representation is filed within four weeks from today along with a copy of this order, the respondent no. 7 shall look into it and if it is found that the contention of the petitioner of not having received the admissible interest is correct, the remaining amount so payable shall be paid to the petitioner within the next two weeks.
