Though the present petition is by way of second attempt at the behest of the petitioner for grant of regular bail in connection with Digha P.S. Case No. 82 of 2020, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act, however, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial as also seeks an observation to the effect that in case the trial is not concluded within a period of one year from today, the petitioner be granted liberty to renew his prayer

Per contra, the learned APP for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer for bail.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial and make endeavours to complete the same within a period of one year from today, nonetheless, I deem it fit and proper to grant liberty to the petitioner to renew his prayer for bail after lapse of one year from today in case there is no substantial progress in the trial. 5.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed off as not pressed.
