This writ application has been filed seeking direction to the Respondent-Bihar School Examination Board, to correct his father's name as recorded in the certificate issued by the Board of having passed Matriculation Examination. The petitioner asserts that his father's name is 'Harishchandra Ray'. However, space has been given in the certificate between 'Harish' and 'Chandra' in recording the father's name of the petitioner in the said certificate. The petitioner passed the said examination in 2002.

3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Board has submitted that the claim of the petitioner for rectification in

Patna High Court CWJC No.21357 of 2019 dt.25-11-2019 2/2 certificate is belated, which has been raised, more than a decade after issuance of the said certificate.

Be that as it may, considering the minor nature of correction which the petitioner is seeking, this application is disposed of with a direction to the Secretary, Bihar School Examination Board, to consider the petitioner's grievance without any objection on the point of delay. A decision must be taken within two months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order keeping in mind the fact that in the subsequent certificate issued by the Bihar School Examination Board of having passed 12th examination, father's name of the petitioner has been correctly recorded.

5. It goes without saying that the petitioner shall be required to pay requisite fee for the said correction, if already not paid.
