1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1. That this is an application for issuance of writ(s) of Mandamus or other appropriate writ to set aside the order contained in Memo No. 2444/Arms dated 08.07.2023 passed in Arms Case No. IX-408//2022 by the District Magistrate Patna whereby and where under the petitioner's application for grant of N.P. bore Revolver / Pistol license has been rejected in contravention of section 14 of the arms act 1959 and also without considering the materials on record."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to challenge the order dated 08.07.2023, passed by the District Magistrate, Patna, whereby and whereunder the application filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license has been rejected, by filing appropriate appeal. Liberty so sought is granted.

3. It is needless to state that in case appropriate appeal is filed within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be considered on merits and a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, shall be passed thereon, within a period of eight weeks, thereafter.

4. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
