2. The petitioners have invoked the jurisdiction of this Court seeking quashing of the Letter No. 1483 dated 27.05.2023, whereby, the officials respondents by adopting pick and choose method appointed the Hygiene Supervisor in the Panchayat under Jandaha Block, District-Vaishali; the petitioners also sought cancellation of the appointment of respondents 2nd set.

3. Learned Advocate for the petitioners contended that despite the fact that the persons, whose names have been mentioned in 2nd set of respondents, having no experience, they have been selected as Hygiene Supervisor in different Panchayat

5/6 ignoring the rightful claim of the petitioners. Having found gross irregularities, in the selection, the petitioners approached before the competent authority i.e. Deputy Development Commissioner, Hajipur by filing various applications/representations, but no action has been taken as yet.

Learned Advocate for the State drawing the attention of this Court to the guidelines issued by the Rural Development Department contended that the Deputy Development Commissioner is the competent authority, who shall look into the matter, if any complaint has been made with regard to the irregularities in the process of selection.

5. Having heard the submissions of the respective parties and taking note of the guidelines, this Court deems it fit and proper to direct the respondent no. 4 to consider the representation of the petitioners, whereby, irregularities have been pointed out in the selection process.

6. At this juncture learned Advocate for the petitioners seeks permission to file a fresh representation before the respondent no. 4, preferably within a period of four weeks, from today.

7. In case such a representation is filed the respondent no. 4 shall consider the same and pass a reasoned and speaking

6/6 order within a period of twelve weeks, in terms of the guidelines issued by the Rural Development Department.

8. The writ petition stands disposed off.
