2. The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Shikarpur P.S. Case No. 489 of 2023 registered for the offence under Sections 386, 387 of the Indian Penal Code.

3. As per the prosecution case, the petitioner and others are accused of demanding extortion money of Rs. 10 lakh. Materials have come during investigation to connect the petitioner with the crime.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 15.07.2023 and has one criminal antecedent of similar nature.

5. Learned A.P.P. has vehemently opposed the

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.69445 of 2023(2) dt.01-11-2023 2/2 prayer for bail.

6. Considering the serious offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, the prayer of bail of the petitioner is rejected herewith.

8. The trial is directed to be expedited.
