Petitioner, already in custody, seeks bail in connection with Karpi PS Case No.47 of 2018, registered under Sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 341, 307, 379, 387 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code as well as under Section 27 of the Arms Act. Allegation in brief is that Anandi Paswan and others including the petitioner went to the brick kiln of the informant and opened fire but informant escaped away and Rs.40,000/- was taken away by Anandi Paswan. Allegation against the petitioner is that in the morning he had called the informant making demand of Rs.5 lacs as extortion.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there is no accusation against the petitioner of firing or being present on

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.30267 of 2018(2) dt.16-05-2018 2/2 that very occasion. The only allegation is that the petitioner in the morning demanded extortion but it is false, petitioner is a government employee and engaged as Panchayat Rojgar Sevak and he has clean antecedent.

Having considered the aforesaid facts and circumstances, petitioner Manjay Kumar is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned ACJM, Arwal in connection with Karpi P.S. Case No.47 of 2018.
