1. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned APP for the State.

2. The learned APP at the outset submits that from order impugned dated 20.07.2023, it would manifest that charges against the petitioner has been framed under section 395 of the Indian Penal Code on 18.08.2022, which signifies commencement of the trial.

3. On query of the court from the learned counsel for the petitioner that as to how many witnesses have been examined, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he is not in a position to inform the court that as how many witnesses have been examined as he does not have any instruction on the issue.

4. Considering the fact that charges have been framed, trial has commenced, as such, the court is not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

5. However, the trial court is directed to expedite the trial to conclude it expeditiously preferably within a period of nine months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
