The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Excise Case No. 63 of 2018 for the offences punishable under Sections 30(a) and 56(D) of Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.

The allegation is regarding recovery of 260.250 liters of illicit liquor from a Tata pick-up van.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is merely a driver of the said vehicle, hence he was not knowing as to what was being carried in the said vehicle. It is further submitted that the petitioner is innocent and he is merely a driver of the vehicle. The petitioner is languishing in custody since 24.4.2018.
